Hello,

Since we updated our website to Joomla! 3.2 and Community Builder 1.9.1 users can not register any more on our website (please find here Register URL www.aalisg.org/en/identification/register.html ). Also we get a 504
error when trying to resend confirmations e-mails to (previously) registred unconfirmed users. But maybe this last error is due to our hoster.

Can you please check The Register problem ? I allready updated a lot of Community Builder plugins and I am going to continue to do so.

I also opened a support ticket regarding this problem.

Regards

Enable debug mode and maximum error reporting then retry to expose the 504 error. If no fatal error is shown then check server error log and see if any fatal errors have been logged.

Your issue maybe due to the below known password issues on J3.2.

Hello and thank you for your reply,

Let's forget the mail issue for the moment. The most important is this registration problem. I have done the password plugin trick and I still have my problem.

What is the registration problem? You've only described resending confirmation causing a 504 error. Why can't users register anymore? Can't submit the registration form? Fatal error when attempting to submit registration?

I noticed you're using CB Conditional and it's step by step. You need to be very careful with CB Conditional as it removes fields from POST if the conditional is not met and if you condition the same field multiple times then only the last conditional applied matters. Please also ensure CB Conditional is up to date.

Hello and thank you for your reply.

The problem is that when a user arrives at the last step of the registration process he gets a Javascript window alert telling him that username must be filled in a specific way but the username filled is not required neither shown in the registration process.

I think I use correctly CB conditionnal and it is up to date as I updated it a few days ago.

Please find enlcose screen capture of the Javascript window alert.

Regards

That's due to a Joomla 3.2 change. When CB attempts to store a user it must first store the CMS user. This means Joomla user store validation is applied. That message is Joomla 3.2 username validation. It no longer allows for spaces in names (this was a pretty sudden change in Joomla; they maybe reverting it for 3.2.1). The problem is if you don't use the Username field it'll fallback to Name, which will have a space. Currently the only solution is to enable the Username field or wait for CB 1.10 were we'll have a permanent work around implement so Joomla won't invalid it.
