I am trying to set up the email send to use SMTP settings.
I have set up the SMTP details in Joomla config and tested it using Joomla mass mail facility. All worked as expected and the chosen recipient got the email correctly.
I then tried using the Mass mail facility in CB, emailing the same person in CB user management. I get an Error sending email message.

Looking at the post you suggested solved it, thanks.
Joomla mass mail worked with the SMTP Host set to Localhost.
CB seems to need to have this set explicitly - for example smtp.mydomain.com
So just to clarify what I did for anyone else who reads the post suggested about the Gmail settings - As I am not using Gmail, I didn't have to set the Security and left this at none with port left to the default 25.
All I did was replaced "localhost" in the SMTP host field with my particular smtp email account details.
