Invitations going to spam accounts was created by flocktree
We found when we issued passwords through community builder recently that half these emails went into recipient's spam account. Our site is a membership invitation only site so it is critical that our invitations sent out using community builder do not go into spam. How can we prevent this from happening?

In addition how does the new google filtering system impact community builder?

Nothing we can do about this. Try to reformat your emails to seam less like spam. Aside from that you need to contact whatever mail server is marking you as spam. If it's Gmail then all I can say is good luck (it took us over a year to finally get removed).

We would really appreciate your advice about how to reformat our emails to look less like spam. For instance:
we are using invitations to events via GroupJive and some of these are going into spam. What can we do? This is a really big deal for us and will impact whether we will continue with Community Builder. This must be a common concern for other users of Community Builder and Group Jive?

You need to contact the major mail servers and seek their advice. Also check the FAQ/Help pages for suggestions. They all have key things they're looking for to classify an email as spam.

For instance:

Change the invite email to include more specific information and look less generated. The invite subject and message are language strings and both support substitutions so it's possible to make them unique.

This is a really big deal for us and will impact whether we will continue with Community Builder.

This has nothing to do with CB. Any product will do this. You need to use better email formatting. CB always comes formatted generic for general usage.

This must be a common concern for other users of Community Builder and Group Jive?

Nope, most change the language strings to specifically fit their needs.

Sometimes there is no reason why you've been flagged as spam. Often times it's due to the formatting. For example if you send an email to 500 people and the only difference between those 500 emails is 1 word then you're a spammer according to all major mail servers. Sometimes it's due to the recipient marking your email as spam, which is a sure fire way to get flagged if your emails are marked spam too much by recipients. Google is extremely aggressive with spam blocking so you have to be very careful with them. Yahoo though isn't as strict and you can easily communicate with them to be removed from their blacklist.
