We would like to set up a global post field in which users would be able to write a few sentences, or refer an outside urls, mainly on the model used today by all social networks like Facebook or Linkedin
This global field would be in top position above the activity plugin tab in order to make things simple.
Would this be possible with CB ?
Should we use a simple ajax text or editor or text area field ?
Do you have some new things planned in CB 2.0 for this ?
Such a field doesn't exist (upload, share, etc.. all in one; there is ajax fields though). No, it won't exist in CB 2.0. No, you can't place a field above CB Activity without modifying CB Activity to have such a feature. Yes, you can add a ajax editable field using CB Core Fields Ajax and it'll log the profile change to the Activity so that's one way you could at least add ajax text messages to the activity stream. CB Activity will be upgraded in a future release to have posting features.

Thing is : as you are developing it, could you add a sort feature in cb activity ?
We would like to be able to geolocalize our users to show posts within a radius. For this we just need to add lat long field in activity and a sort feature.

I suggest not waiting and using an ajax field for the time being to at least allow text updates. I've no idea when I'll get around to implementing this.

There's nothing to sort so I'm not sure what you'd want to sort on.
