When a user confirms their new website registration via the automated email, the link takes the user to the website to log in. (The page isn't the index page for some reason)

After the user logs in to their new account, they get an error message stating that they are already logged in. Upon refreshing the page, it shows them now logged in.

I'm sure that in the configuration somewhere I've messed something up, but there are SO MANY possibilities.

Can anyone help me to narrow down the possibilities or know of something I've done wrong via my description?

You need to have a public and published Joomla menu link to CBs profile page. CB uses it for its Itemid, which determines component access in Joomla.

Do you have any sort of caching Joomla extensions or Joomla caching enabled? If so disable it and purge anything that has been cached then re-test. It's possible Joomla is serving an out of date cache of the page.

I checked and had no caching enabled. I actually found the default setting in the registration configuration was somehow screwed up and simply cleared it out to use the default index.php page. Works fine set like that.
