Avtar api for mobile app

Hi, i´m posting this for a user on spanish forum. See the post here.
The user want to know how the CB api works to make his mobile app can use the avatar feature.
The idea is that the user on his mobile can upload a picture and use it like an avatar to site and the mobile app.
The app is a custom app that conect with the database and not the site.
Is that possible? Thanks.

That's always been possible, but the user is going to have to develop such an implementation. We'll never be able to support random custom APPs; that's just not possible. I suggest they push the avatar to the images/comprofiler/ folder then add it to the _comprofiler database avatar column for the users row then uploading from APP would be same as uploading from the site.
