[SOLVED] Problems with old JQuery was created by Roland
Hello,

I have a issue with new version of Jreviews.

Alejandro from Jreview think it could be a issue with very old JQuery version from CB.
www.reviewsforjoomla.com/forum/index.php?topic=26011.msg109042#msg109042

Is it possible to use a newer JQuery for CB?

Greetings, Roland

Addressing the best I can on a Saturday (rest of team will surely respond better on Monday).

FYI - We have latest jquery version already in place in CB 2.0.

Also I know for a fact that we are using jquery in a very low level no-conflict mode.
This way it will not even influence other jquery versions loaded and used by other extensions.

So I am guessing that this is not your issue.

If possible what happens if you remove CB from your installation? Does it fix your issue?

Also, white pages are best debugged if you have Joomla debug ON set to Maximum level - have you tried this?

Hello,

thanks for your help.

To be honest: I wait since three years for CB 2.0... And at the moment the actual version is 1.9.X with Jquery 1.5 from 2011...

"So I am guessing that this is not your issue." => I was sure to get this kind of answer... ;-)

I just prevent loading Jquery 1.5 with the plugin JQuery Easy and the failure is away. But some of CB things seems don't working anymore (like the "More" function of the activity stream)...

Yes, I already set debug mode to maximum an I also tried to set the memory limit to 256 MB (for testing). But no success... As Alejandro (main developer from Jreview) said, it's a JQuery/Browser issue... In Internet Explorer there is no failure, just in Firefox and Chrome...

You are welcome.

Regarding CB 2.0 - We are getting close - lots of progress - I am excited.

Yes CB 2.0 will be based on latest jquery and will load it once again in deep non-conflict mode so it will not cause issues to other extensions that also load their own version of jquery.

"So I am guessing that this is not your issue." => I was sure to get this kind of answer... ;-)

I also mentioned that rest of team will address after the weekend.

Please note that for personal experience 99% of issues of this nature are not due to CB.
In this case I could be wrong (will let experts give expert opinion).
Maybe you have other extensions that load other jquery versions not in non-conflict mode?
Maybe jreviews also does not load its jquery version in non-conflict mode?

Just throwing out some thoughts until week starts.

I just prevent loading Jquery 1.5 with the plugin JQuery Easy and the failure is away. But some of CB things seems don't working anymore (like the "More" function of the activity stream)...

That is interesting - it should help rest of team - thanks for providing this feedback here.

In FF and Chrome are their any javascript errors in your error console?

Also, does your server error log give any extra information maybe?

Thanks for posting back.

Glad I was right and CB was not the cause of this.

As stated before, we always try and release stable code that protects itself (as much as possible) from other extensions and also protects other extensions from jquery conflicts.

Glad you are back in business.
