I am attempting to include a “view in browser” link on my auto emails from cb subs plan. Is there a quick way to substitute the site URL into the message? This would help me avoid hard coding the link in the anchor text.

Yes, you can use [cb:config param="live_site" /] to substitute in the live site URL. Please see the below tutorial for further substitution usage information.
