[SOLVED] Registration form redirect for sign-up looses parameters if username is in use etc…

10 years 7 months ago - 10 years 6 months ago #243476 by prestoproducts
During registration I am sending the user to a link like this one:

../index.php/sign-up?profiletype=active&option=com_comprofiler&task=pluginclass&plugin=cbpaidsubscriptions&do=displayplans&plans=1

I have found that if the user submits the form and there is an issue with a doubled username, then they will be redirected back to the registration form, but the loose the URL parameters:

../index.php/sign-up

How can I adjust the registration form such that it retains these parameters?

You can't, the plans pages just render the CB registration form inside of it, but it doesn't add any parameters like that to the form POST URL as CBSubs has no handling of registration save process.

Could I use .htaccess to permanently redirect the link with these values hardcoded?

If you're going to redirect permanently why not display the plan on registration so you don't have to mess with redirecting or anything of the sort. A redirect also would not pass along the POST data so the form would be emptied everytime there was a registration validation error like that.
