Hi

I have a problem regarding notification email when an user in groupjive wants to be part of a group. All my groups are set to "approval" meaning that I need to approve the users partification in a group.

In this connection I need the following

1) a notification email sent to me informing about the user who wants to join a group. How do I enable a function which sends me the relevant information?

2) a notification email sent to the user informing that her/his approval for partification in the group is pending. How do I enable a function which sends the user the relevant information?

3) Where do I approve og disapprove the partification of the user?

4)After approval or disapproval an email should be sent to the user informing about either approval or disapproval. How do I enable a function which sends the user the relevant information

Navigate to the category you want notifications for. Then click "Notifications" on the categories menu then click Category > Group and set "New Group requires approval" to notify. You should then receive notifications for all groups that need approval in that category. This can be enabled globally by default within GJ > Config > Notifications > Categories > Defaults, but this only takes affect if you don't have a notification row as it just sets the defaults.

2) a notification email sent to the user informing that her/his approval for partification in the group is pending. How do I enable a function which sends the user the relevant information?

User group join notification? Basically the same as the above except click Notifications menu item in the Group it self then click Group > Users.

3) Where do I approve og disapprove the partification of the user?

Users tab in the group it self. You'll see users pending approval as displaying first.

4)After approval or disapproval an email should be sent to the user informing about either approval or disapproval. How do I enable a function which sends the user the relevant information

There's no notification for that, but it's planned in next release.

Thank you for your satisfactory answer.

I have tried to post a new topic. Anyhow, I get the answer that I should upgrade to developer, when I press submit.

You need to be sure you're attempting to post in the Professional support forums. My guess is you were in the wrong category when trying to make a new post.

Hi Kyle

I have succeed in finding out no. 1 and 3 of your answers. But No 2 causes me serious problems.

I have for several days been thinking about what I might have done wrong

Therefore I have made images of all what I think posssible could have something do with it.

Step 1 - I begin by clicking on notification item in the group.





Then

Step 2-5 - I go through the varios steps in the way that you informed.




I still have no luck in sending a notication email to my new member about pending approval.

Then i go carefully through all the configuration regarding GJ. Especially I am focused on the tab notifications with various subtabs, Please see enclosed image.



Even though I think that I have made the configuration OK, I still cannot get a notification email through to my user about pending approval


As a last way out I am wondering whether the fact that I have translated the text in the notification emails in the configuration of CB causes the problems?. Please see the enclosed image.





I must admit that this groupjive is a tough nut to crack.

An email doesn't send to the user about pending approval. The notification sends to you that you have a new user pending approval. Pending registration approval email has nothing to do with GJ. Next release of GJ will automatically let the user know their join request was accepted. For now no such feature exists.
