[SOLVED] url sef problem

hi, i want to activate URL SEF (joomla default, not 3rd party) but i noticed some user profile page become inaccessible with the error page "this profile does not exist or is no longer available"
what could be the problem?

Are you using URL Rewriting? If so ensure htaccess is properly renamed so it can function. If not then be sure to turn off URL Rewriting in the SEO settings. Next ensure the SEF Joomla system plugin is enabled within Extensions > Plug-in Manager.

i used to use acesef, but after tons of broken links i uninstalled that, now i want to use the default joomla sef system, i replaced the .htaccess with an original joomla installation one (i guess 3rd party SEF component edit the htaccess) but now if i enable the url rewriting i get that error.
the plugin is enabled.

Check Joomla cache and see if any pages were cached. It's common for 3rd party SEF to cache URLs which could cause this. Purge all Joomla cache then retest to see if working. Aside from that I'm not sure what more to advise as sounds like your 3rd party SEF may have broken core SEF. I suggest contacting the developers of acesef for proper uninstall and removal steps.

i tried to clear cache too (i found 2 acesef files)..nothing changed.

i dont think acesef still making problems, this is the uninstall procedure: nothing special.
