Activity Stream Module and slow page load

Hello,

I am inquiring about the activity stream module which can be viewed here on the right side of the forum: www.reformedchristianity.org/forum/index.html

When this module is active the page is very slow loading. I'd like to keep this module, but find it currently unacceptable, as you can view it yourself and see the time in which the page takes to load. The site takes less than three seconds with the module disabled, is there anything that can be done to decrease the speed?

It depends on how much activity your site has and how much it needs to go through. Next release will have significant performance improvements, but for now there's no way to really improve it any further. There could also be some sort of error occurring, which will reduce page load speed. As I don't see the module on your site I can't review networking performance to see if it's a jQuery error or something of the sort causing it.

Sorry about not leaving it up, as I had taken it down because of the slowness of the page load.

Also the home activity page has multiple "spiral loading icons." Is there a way of getting rid of that or should I start another post just for them and they don't stop or go away?

I've no idea what's causing that as CB Activity does not have a spinner to indicate activity. You can see on our demo page below there is no spinner.

I recommend right clicking it and clicking Inspect Element in Chrome or Firefox to try and see where the image is coming from.

And also it is making me look like a liar. It appears that the page only loads slowly whenever signed in.

Any help will be much appreciated. Also, if this isn't something that is covered for support, are their hired services in order to find the culprit?

I'm having no issues with your site using Chrome. Viewing forums or the test users own profile while logged in has no long loading times (approx. 3sec).

Reviewing the error console (F12 > Console) I see your site is trying to load a spinner gif at modules/mod_jux_social_tabs/assets/images/loader.gif. So your issue is likely due to a 3rd party extension.
