Advanced Search

I'm really stumped on the search solutions available.

Basically, I need an advanced search functionality. Where someone could, for example, search for a user with brown eyes and living in New York. Typically, these types of search extensions will have drop downs for this.

Anyway, I would expect CB to already have an advanced search or for there to be a plugin available via the Developer Package. I'm not finding much.

So far, the only thing I found was some extensions listed under 'CB Solutions >> Directory'. But they're all old Joomla 1.5 extensions.

Any suggestions? I would prefer suggestions that are included in what I've already spent on CB as opposed to buying 3rd party extensions - if possible.

You should be able to make a CB User list and include the fields you want seacrhable.

The problem is that the user needs to be able to select the search fields (i.e. eye color).

You can also install the

Joomla 2.5/3.0 CB Search plugin version 1.0.1 (Professional membership)

from here:

www.joomlapolis.com/downloads/downloads-single-items/doc_download/318-joomla-2530-cb-search-plugin-version-101

and configure it to extend the Joomla search box to also search CB fields.

I believe that's what I need. 2 things though...

I see the same thing, but version 1.0.3 (bot_cbsearch_j25-103.zip) in the add-ons directory. Is this a newer version?

The other thing I was wondering is if it's compatible with Joomla 3. It says it's compatible with 2.5. I tried installing it anyway on Joomla 3, but I don't see it in the plugins. So I'm thinking maybe it's not compatible.
