You already have the file and code line to edit. We can not advise you any further as we do not support core edits. Removing the HTML also does not remove the functionality, which means anyone with the correct URL structure can still get to wall edit.

It's so you can edit your post.

Category Owner, Group Owner, Group Admin, and CB Moderator all have the power to edit content of the group.

Correct, it was intentionally designed this way. The permissions run significantly deeper than simply removing a dropdown menu item. Removing the dropdown item does not remove the feature.

You can't without multiple edits to core code and I can not advise you on editing core code.

The permissions will be re-evaluated for next release and likely have a lot of permissions like that removed.
