Just went pro

Do i need to enter a code or do anything in partic to activate pro sub on the Cb end?

the 1st plugin i dl was the search one but i cant seem to install it, i tried to install it with the Joomla extension manager and then couldnt find any options to configure it, or anything, so i tried to install it using the CB plugin manager and just got these errors:

Upload showPlugins - Upload Failed
ERROR: Could not find a CB XML setup file in the package.

Installation file not found:

[ Continue ... ]


are there any documentation specific to each plugin ? Im a seasoned developer and im struggling so i can imagine for others this is mission impossible, or maybe ive missed something thanks for your help in advance.

Update, i eventually found the plugin config, set it up but i Dont understand how a user is able to use it, it doenst show the search fields i defined in the userlist search?

I tried making a new joomla search module in the userlist area, nothing.. man this is very frustrating and the FIRST plugin i dl'd hey all i need is like a install.txt or something to tell me what the hell is goin on nick. GODDD i feel like punching the cat man! an hour went past u kno, all i wanted to do is let users search on certain fields, i cant figure it out, are we supossed to just guess this stuff?

Added a smartsearch... nope thats not it.. fields arnt being displayed...

why is this so hard lol duh hell nick!!?

If you are referring to the CB Quickstart PRO package, no you just download and install it. No activation code.

I am guessing that a source of confusion is the name. There is only one CB (Community Builder) and it is free. The CB Quickstart Pro package will just install the free CB 1.9.1 and some additional add-ons.

If you are referring to the Joomla CB Search plugin this is a Joomla plugin and needs to be installed using the Joomla Extension Installer and not the CB Plugin Installer. This is why you are getting messages that a CB CML file could not be found.

Each add-on basically has its own tooltips and you can of course post any extra questions you have here.

If you downloaded the Joomla 2.5/3.0 CB Search plugin version 1.1.0 from here:

You just install it using the Joomla Installer and then configure it from the Joomla plugin manager page. This will basically extend the Joomla search functionality (not the smart search) to also search in CB profile fields.

If you just want to add searching when displaying CB User Lists you can just configure the userlist for this directly. Check the CB Detailed documentation (Advanced download area) for instructions on this topic.

Thanks for the reply nick, it took me ages i did finally figure it out, and attempted to install another plugin, the profile progress one, ill attach a screenshot to this post, sorry to be so "bad mooded" and so on, im having a hard day

I think i read someplace i can select which profile fields are tracked and... is it ment to look like that, i do have warnings enabled as far as php error settings go, so i do occaisionally see these but i notice theres no fields to select to be tracked and theres <hr> below the drop down that indicates to me something its ment to be under it?

Force edit is only checking on login. It simply checks if the user has a field that's marked Required, but has no value. If this is the case it sends them to profile edit, but they're not forced to stay there. You can't select what fields it checks. It always checks only Require empty fields.
