Emails are being sent to new users

Hello,

I'm having an issue when i add new users using the community builder user manager.

The thing is that, since a week ago (or two) it suddenly started sending mails to any new user i register.

I checked every configuration but everything seems alright.

The mail have the welcome message and the information of the account (user and password).

How can i stop community builder from sending mails?

CB version?

Have you turned off Joomla notifications?

What changes did you make that triggered this behavior?

My joomla version is Joomla! 2.5.11 Stable and my CB version is 1.9

I turned off all the email notifications i encountered.

Implement false credentials for your Joomla mailer settings within Joomla global configuration. This should stop all emails from sending as CB uses those settings. CB doesn't have an option to turn off all emails. Joomla does I believe in 3.3, but CB won't use it in CB 1.x (does in CB 2.0).

Can you clarify what you mean by implementing false credentials?

When manually adding users in the backend using CB with blank passwords fields, both CB and Joomla are sending users an email notification that includes 2 random passwords.

I have the following setting in Joomla Users/Options:

Site runs Joomla 2.528 | CB 1.91

Within Joomla global configuration change your mailer settings to something that can't possibly work. For example sendmail with wrong sendmail path or maybe SMTP with invalid login. Your alternative is upgrade to Joomla 3.x, CB 2.x, and use the parameter to turn off emails globally.
