What is this, and how do I safely get rid of it?

I am trying to clean things up in preparation for the upcoming upgrade to Joomla 3.3 (one of these days, it will be ready, right?).

Got rid of most of the orphans in here (templates and whatnot) but I cannot find where this 'aborted installation' is hiding. I actually just went ahead and installed it (didn't really do anything) on our DEV server, but I am nervous about going ahead and doing the same on our live server as I do not really understand what it is, where it comes from, and what it does.

The CB stuff that is all installed and working presently looks like this:

Not sure why there is 1.81 living concurrently with 1.91?? Is that OK? Can I remove the old one without destroying anything?

CB 1.x actually has 3 XML files to accommodate the various Joomla version. My guess is discovery is picking up all 3. I'm not sure how you have 1.8.1 and 1.9.1 installed at the same time though. If you try uninstalling 1.8.1 it's probably going to uninstall 1.9.1. It could just be a left over database entry, which you can remove from the _extensions database table.

OK, I went into _extensions, found the 1.81 entry and nuked it. So that has cleaned that up. Still have this one mystery "site" CB entry though:

Tried deleting this mystery thing from database (this is on our DEV server, of course) - but if I do that, then it just shows up again upon "discover". I am assuming it must be something spurious??? If so - where is it being detected from? (so I can go and remove it...)

There is nothing in the /tmp folder anymore... so where is this thing hiding?

I've no idea how that could happen unless you manually extracted CB or something of the sort. You'll need to check the CB backend and frontend component file structures and compare them to the file structure in CB 1.9.1 zip file to ensure there aren't some rogue files there.

I wasn't around when this was originally installed, so I suppose that anything could have happened. I did run the 1.9.1 update though - and that just went through automatically with no complaints (through the update manager).

Downloaded and unzipped the CB1.9.1... here is what I came up with...

/components/com_comprofiler/comprofiler.xml
/administrator/components/com_comprofiler/comprofilej.xml

In my installation, they are both 1.8.1 files (not 1.9.1 as found in the installer zip)

I am guessing these are only used during install/upgrade? (Since I can no longer discover any 1.8.1 components after cleaning that DB entry...)

Not sure how they would relate to my 'phantom' site thingy (which has no version number...) Does CB normally install a "site"?? If so, where would I look for it's installer script?

Should I replace these files with the 1.9.1 files found in the installer? (Are they referenced for the next upgrade?)

Download CB 1.9.1 and install it over top of your existing install to see if that resolves your issue. All 3 XML files in the CB 1.9.1 package have 1.9.1 as their version. Please ensure you're downloading the correct version from the Free downloads section.
