[SOLVED] ACL manager & CBsubs... was created by mikerotec
I see this was touched upon in a thread six months ago ( www.joomlapolis.com/forum/277-cbsubs-gpl-support/224266-acl-manager-and-cbsubs-creates-orphans#240606 ) but it doesn't seem to have a resolution.

I see it's strongly recommended on Joomla.org to use ACL manager before attempting a 2.5.x-to-3.3.3 Joomla upgrade. But ACL manager is stalled on a lot of CBsubs items - and I get the feeling that nuking these with ACL manager is going to harm CBsubs. Yes, or no??

Running fully up-to-date Joomla 2.5.24, CB 1.9.1, CBsubs 3.0

I did a test on our DEV server allowing the ACL Manager to delete the "com_cbsubs" permission entries, and it SEEMS to have had no effect on CBsubs. At least, all the CBsubs admin panels are displaying OK.

But on our DEV server we can't really effectively test CBsubs - so would appreciate your confirmation as to whether or not it's a bad idea to remove the "Orphan asset"! (For all I know, this entry could be some legacy asset from an old install or something... but it could be some vital component of CBsubs!)

CBSubs creates permissions with a pseudo component (com_cbsubs). That's why you receive those notices in your ACL Manager. They are not broken and they do function in CBSubs. With CB 2.0 we've improved the permissions usage further and will be prefixing the permissions properly so they belong to the CB component. This won't have any affect on CBSubs though as that'll take a new CBSubs release, which is planned after CB 2.0 Stable. Please note having those permissions causes no negative issues. Removing this also causes no negative issues for Super Users as they've full access regardless.
