I have hidden tabs, viewable to specific ACL (specified on the Tab properties page).

I have moderator settings set to Admins and Super-Admins, to allow admins to edit profiles from front-end. However, the hidden tabs don't show for admins on the front end since they are not apart of the ACL that allows them to see the hidden tab.

Do I have to add every admin to every group that has a hidden tab in order to allow them to see and edit that tab?

Just thinking that wouldn't be good, since those tabs would appear on the admins profile too, and some of those tabs have required fields.

How do I deal with this.

Your tabs should be using View Access Levels at this point. You just need to add your admin usergroup to your view access level and they should be able to access the tab. The tab however will show in the admins profile edit page as well though, which I don't think there's really any getting around that. You can maybe try using CB Conditional to condition off some sort of value.

Hence the problem. If the Tab will show in the admins profile, and the tab also includes a required field, when the admin goes to edit their own profile they will be required to enter a field that doesnt apply to them.

I don't see any way around that. If it's editable by a moderator then it's accessible to them as well. It maybe possible to accomplish this with a custom plugin acting on the onBeforeEditATab or onAfterEditATab trigger.
