As part of the auto action I need to get the id of the user that has just registered.
As plugin there would not be a problem to get it from the trigger function. But I have no idea how to get the value with in auto actions.
From the trigger function the appropriate variable containing the user id would be $this. This would be [var1] in auto actions.
But a return [var1]; Does only return { [0]=> string(4) "var1" }
[user_id] or [var1_id] should both give you what you're wanting. Assuming User is left as Automatic then all substitutions will target the user that's registering so [FIELD_NAME] would be their profile data. At any rate you can access the direct trigger CB $user object using [var1_FIELD_NAME] usage.
