[SOLVED] CBLogin 'password bullets' was created by mikerotec
Is there a configuration option to TURN OFF the password bullets??

I am referring to the ones in the "popup" log-in box.

I get multiple phone calls a week from users who 'cannot log in' - because they see those bullets, and assume that it means that the browser is filling in their passwords!!! I have to inform them that it's not, and that they actually need to click on the bullets and ENTER IN THEIR PASSWORDS.

If this setting doesn't exist somewhere, could we please have it added?

Believe that's the faked placeholder (gone in CB 2.0 and fixed with real placeholder attribute). That displays when "Display username/password labels as" is set to "Text" and "Display type" is set to "Compact". Disable contact display or set the label display to icon only. Either of those should fix it. The alternative is to modify the login module and remove that.

OK... but where do I find those settings? (we're using CB 1.9.1)

Within your CB Login module in Extensions > Module Manager.

Right! I was looking for module named "CB-login" but it's actually titled "login". Anyway, when I do set the label display to icon only - it does remove the unwanted bullets.

But setting "icon only" also has the unfortunate side-effect of making the "popup" log-out very ambiguous - The popup has the large title "LOGIN" but the actual logout button is just an icon that doesn't indicate that it is a 'Log out' button unless you actually hover over it.

Setting display type to "default" instead of compact doesn't seem to do anything.

I'd rather not be hacking module code since that means I would need to track it for all eternity and be ready to re-hack it when necessary when there is an update.

OK, I got it sorted... "labels&icons" for buttons, combined with "icon only" for the text labels seems to be a satisfactory setup. :cheer:
