And if you try to now save your newly typed Greek names does it save them or not?

no it doesn`t save them unfortunately. don`t bother, i will enter them manually throug phpmyadmin in the params of the field. thanks for the interest

Disable magic quotes. It's required to be disabled for Joomla 3.x and strongly recommended to be disabled for Joomla 2.5. Magic quotes is officially PHP deprecated in PHP 5.4 and greater as well. Please see the below Joomla tutorial to turn off magic quotes.

We've removed the stripslashes behavior to help with this as well as a banner warning on backend control panel if magic quotes is enabled.
