Publish acceptedterms field CB 2.0.1

CB 2.0.1

I must be missing something simple here....

I want a tickbox on my registration page like I had in CB 1.9.1 that allowed new members to show acceptance of my website T&Cs.

Apparently this is now handled by the acceptedterms field. Mine is set to unpublished and it says System fields publish state cannot be changed.

So how does it get published?

Strange, it shouldn't be unpublished. You'll need to force it published within the _comprofiler_fields database table. You can also try running the various database tools checks within CB > Tools to see if it can fix it.

Tools wouldn't fix it so altered in the database.

Strangely the title within the database was _UE_FAX which meant that when displayed on the registration form the field title was Fax #, so changed that too.

Thanks.

That's a sample data field. It shouldn't be taking up a reserved id, which is used by acceptedterms. Was the fields database table altered manually in any way? Copied over using phpmyadmin or restored from a backup of some kind?

No to both of those.

The field worked and displayed fine in CB 1.9.1 then was problematic after upgrade to 2.0.1

Ok, looks like sample data in CB 1.x reserved the ID 44. This should not have been using reserved IDs for sample data. You'll need to manually enable the field within the _comprofiler_fields database table and you should be fine from then onward. The new sample data tool does not reserve IDs and creates fields correctly in CB 2.0 as well.
