Strings in language.php not translating

These strings are in CB 2.01 language.php but they fail to translate All I see is the USER_CANVAS_TITLE string etc...
Any ideas?

Not building a translation. Just expect it to display the English string as shown. All it displays is the TITLE as in USER_CANVAS_TITLE instead of Canvas. Note this is in Joomla 2.5 current release.
