Unable to configure CB 2.02 was created by trlbldr
Installation of CB 2.02 over CB 1.91 seemed to work okay - the canvas did not appear as displayed here, but that's another matter. The Big Glitch is with the Configuration tool - it would not come up when clicked. Joomla (finally) returned an error message that said an unspecified error had occurred. I see at least one other forum member posted a similar issue here. Any ideas? (This caused me to completely remove Joomla and the MySql database and restore the site using Akeeba Backup.)

Site particulars:
  • OS Linux b
  • PHP 5.4.34
  • MySQLi 5.5.40-36.1-log
  • Caching Disabled
  • GZip Enabled
CB 1.91 plugins:
  • Default
  • WinClassic
  • WebFX
  • OSX
  • Luna
  • Dark
  • Bootstrap
  • CB ProfileBook
  • CB Core
  • CB Menu
  • CB Connections
  • CB LastViews Tab

Configuration tool? You mean you can't reach CB > Configuration? Just a white page? Please check server error logs for the actual PHP or server error that's occurring.

Kyle,

I suppose I should have written "Configuration page" rather than use the term "tool." My sincere apologies.

What I meant - and thought I'd written - was that I was unable to open CB 2.02 Configuration and configure the extension. The spinner spun for some time before a blank page appeared with the (paraphrased) message that the page could not be opened because of an unspecified error.

If the server had logged a PHP error, that log is gone. As I wrote, I removed all files and all database tables before I restored the site using a backup created earlier using Akeeba Backup. That probably restored the previous error log on the server at BlueHost.

Cheers,

Don White

Enable debug mode and maximum error reporting then navigate to CB > Configuration and see if any errors output. Wonder if it could be the version checker. Are you able to reach the Control Panel page?

 Sorry, but, as I've written, I completely removed the site and database with CB 2.02 and restored the previous site, with CB 1.9x, using Akeeba Backup.

I thought that posting this issue would help the developers. I'm not willing now to
"treat" subscribers to a bad experience just to turn on the native Joomla debug & error reporting tools.

Cheers,

Don White

We can't debug without debug information. I could not confirm your issue here. As a future tip never upgrade a live site directly. Clone the site, upgrade, test, and confirm it's functioning as expected. If it is then you can upgrade your live site. All upgrades should be treated in this manner for live and active sites.
