Conditional field display on a multilingual website was created by igals

I'm building a a multilingual website and the full name of the user needs to be displayed in the same language selected for the website, I have two different fields for the full name, one for each language.

Is there a way to display a field based on the language the website is currently displayed in?

I tried doing it with substitutions but it didn't work, and then I found this:

You would need a CB field that stores what language the user should display in. Then you'd be able to use an IF condition to show a different name field based off the language. Aside from that I don't know what further to suggest as typically you don't translate the user input data.
