CB Privacy not working with CB 2.0? was created by Malarkist
I'm building my first Joomla 3.x site so I'm brand new here.

I just installed CB Privacy on CB 2.0.6.

First - is there any documentation for CB Privacy? For example - How am I supposed to know how the settings work? And what does the batch job do and how do I use it?

Second - I've played with some settings. I want to set Profile Tab visibility to Private. I have profile information on one tab that only the profile owner/user should ever see. I've configured this in the settings but it did not appear to have any affect on profile visibility at all. The setting for removing visibility on Edit does work...

Third - I've read in another post that CB Privacy is not working with CB 2.0 though on the download page it says they're compatible. Could this be a reason for why the privacy setting for tabs appears to not be working?

I appreciate any help anyone can offer! Thanks!

Welcome aboard!

I just installed CB Privacy on CB 2.0.6.

I am thinking you meant to type CB 2.0.2 (which is the latest stable release today).

First - is there any documentation for CB Privacy? For example - How am I supposed to know how the settings work? And what does the batch job do and how do I use it?

Not yet - please note that the latest CB Privacy add-on is not yet ready for CB 2.0.
See this page for CB 2.0 compatible add-ons status:

www.joomlapolis.com/cb-20-addon-status

CB Privacy 4.0 is almost ready for release (as well as CB 2.0.3) - suggest you wait a couple of days for these.

Second - I've played with some settings. I want to set Profile Tab visibility to Private. I have profile information on one tab that only the profile owner/user should ever see. I've configured this in the settings but it did not appear to have any affect on profile visibility at all. The setting for removing visibility on Edit does work...

Same response - I would wait a couple of days to upgrade to the CB 2.0 compatible version which should solve any issues.

Nick is CB Privacy 4.0 officially compatible with CB 2.0 now? On the add-on status page it is still not checked as compatible.

I'm still not seeing it working.

Tab Management > A Custom Profile tab > Integrations > CB Privacy
I've got Display set to 'Forced Privacy Control'
I've got Default set to 'Private'

I would expect that with these settings that the only person who can see this custom profile tab is the authenticated user who is the owner of the profile. Instead what I'm seeing is that this tab is still visible to all users authenticated and unauthenticated.

Please advise!

Yes, it has been completely rewritten for CB 2.0.

Privacy is ignored for the profile owner and CB Moderators. Do not test with a CB Moderator as it'll look like privacy is not working, but it in fact is. View with a Public user and they should not see the tab (confirmed working). The default privacy selector is a multi-select. Be sure you've selected exactly what privacy settings you want for the defaults.
