Can I open a ticket on this matter? Got the client calling me and he's not happy. If I cannot get this remedied then I'll have to use another method.

When installing CB 2.0 we do not change a fields type on install as it's too heavy on the database. Navigate to CB > Tools and run the "Check Community Builder User Fields Database with strict column types" tool (link in "Check Community Builder User Fields Database" tool description). This will convert it form varchar to text.

OK I got things fixed. And the silly thing was it was human error; the user's profile I was working on as the test turned out to be the user's superadmin profile so I was creating changes to that profile, unaware that his teacher profile was a completely different user. SMH... ;)
