Google Maps on GJ, I swear does not work was created by fundsauce
No matter what I try, Google Maps on GJ2.7.0 on CB 2.0.3 in Joomla 3.3.6 will simply not work. I have included a screenshot of front and backend views. The backend showing everything I can think of that is relevant. Is there something I have not installed/activated/published/adjusted? No link shows at all, ever. No location shows up, only the address. I use every possible combination of address/location including zipcodes/postcodes/countries/states/cities/streets/commas/no commas/single spacing/double spacing/case adjustments/editor types etc.

Obviously I am missing something, but what? I have the standard Joomla, have tried it on four different templates, two of those being the basic ones that come with Joomla 3.3.6(Protostar and Beez). Any ideas greatly appreciated as it truly has me baffled despite repeated clean installs.

It generates a latitude and longitude from the "Address" input. The "Location" input is purely cosmetic. The address you supply needs to be a completely valid address. One way to test this is to input the address into Google maps and see what Google thinks your location is. It's also possible the Google maps API has changed and this feature no longer functions. I won't know until I'm reviewing CB GorupJive for its upgrade.

Your issue could also be related to the event date and time inputs being broken and causing a fatal JS error, which will cause the Google API to also fail. Please be sure you've installed the quickfixed GJ Events integration found below.

Installed the update with no joy. I tried updating a current event, leaving the others as is, tried creating new events from copying exact addresses directly off google maps. Just don't work. I tested all the databases etc in the CB tools, everything showed as fine.

The only thing I cannot find is any Google maps API tab in GJ or CB.

It maybe bugged. GJ has not been upgraded for CB 2.0 yet. In the saveEvent function of the event integration is where it sends the HTTP JSON request to Google API to get the latitude and longitude. Right now it has no error output for the request and it is using our old Snoopy HTTP library. Once upgraded it'll provide proper error output and use our new Guzzle HTTP library. I don't have anything further to suggest other than wait for the upgrade release or revert back to using CB 1.x.
