I cant believe this bug ist still around despite you said you would take care of it a long time ago:

Error

Oops! You tried to install Community Builder over your Git repository! Fortunately we checked and did not allow this


On every update I have to hack the update script ...

We added a fix to prevent it from checking against Joomla GIT. Do you have a GIT folder in CB? It's only a bug if it's checking against GIT outside of CB. We intentionally implemented this to prevent CB from overriding a GIT installation, which we use throughout all of our internal development.

If there's a GIT folder in Joomla is it at Joomla root or administration?

Update: Looks like Beat found a bug with the checking. We'll be implementing an additional fix for next build.
