While I do like CB 2.x and its new features I cannot help thinking that it was released extremely prematurely.
First there were three RC's then 2.0.0 released on October 8. More than two months later and we are yet to see all of the Advanced, Professional, CB Subs and Templates actually compatible with CB 2.x.
It is a great product with superior and lightening fast support, but honestly, I could have happily waited for a fully functional 2.x rather than being repeatedly "teased" with the promise of a fully functional CB 2.x.
Hi fundsauce,
First of all, thanks for your praise of our support and of the free CB 2.0 product itself.
Loooks like there is a confusion of two unrelated items: Future CB 2.1 (with major new and fully compatible features) and CB Add-on Plugins compatibility. Here is a short explanation:
1. Plugins compatibility:
You will not need to wait for CB 2.1 and April to get all our add-on plugins fully compatible with CB 2.0.
As you can see on our updated official current detailed status, here:
www.joomlapolis.com/cb-20-addon-status
Most of our plugins are already compatible, a lot have been included for free into CB 2.0, and we are almost there with 100% of our plugins verified compatible. Templates are also been worked on in parallel by our templates designer, and all 4 templates should be released pretty soon (although I agree that there was an unexpected delay on those. As a side-note, I am not seeing you being a current or past Templates customer, so you are currently not affected by this delay).
2. Regarding CB 2.1 and April:
You have probably seen this in our forge release dates. Those are not in any way a guess and even less an announcement. Redmine requires dates for releases, and the future dates there are not an indication of release dates.
CB 2.1 will not be needed for full verified compatibility of plugins, a 2.0.x will be fine.
Finally, CB 2.0 itself is fully functional.
I'm not sure to understand what you expect from CB 2.1 as it has not been announced at this time.
Our current work is to finish making the last CB add-on plugins fully compatible with CB 2.0, fixing any issues reported in CB and add-ons. Then we have a few new plugins to develop and some nice improvements inside CB itself planed.
So back to the current tasks that we want to finish as soon as possible too.
