CB Migrating Users/Settings was created by pipermac
I currently have a development site in which I am currently working on which is a clone of our live site. When I am completed with this site I wish to have this Dev site become the the Live Site.

when I am ready to do this what would I have to migrate over from the existing site? The only thing the existing site will have that the development will not is any new User registrations and subscriptions.

What would be the best way to migrate any new accounts? Would I just need to export and import a specific table? would there be multiple tables?

Thanks

You can move users over using CB Juice as it can export and import users, but there is no such feature for CBSubs subscriptions. To move subscriptions you'll need to use the built in CBSubs Import feature.

So.....using CB Juice to import the Users and then use CB Subs to import subscriptions and they will all match up? Anything else I should be aware of?
Would it matter if one site is CB 2.03 and the other 2.04?

thanks.....i will test it out.

So.....using CB Juice to import the Users and then use CB Subs to import subscriptions and they will all match up?

CB Juice will export a CSV file of your users. This includes their field values. You'd then use it to import into your other site. Note it does not create fields. It'll just import their field values back in if those fields exist.

Would it matter if one site is CB 2.03 and the other 2.04?

No, it shouldn't matter.

How do I export subscriptions from the original one?

CBSubs Import is a bit different. You need to format a file that fits the criteria specified on the CBSubs Import page that'll give them a subscription based off the criteria. Please also review the CBSubs documentation for this as well to better understand its usage. It maybe possible to do a query to your database and have it return results formatted like the import needs then export from phpmyadmin to be imported into your install. Basically there's not CBSub Export.

ok...so the amount of user that will problaby have to be moved will likely be less than 10. I could also just manually assign them a subscription after importing. either way I take it that The CBSUBs statics wont be able to be migrated (Not a big deal) we only have a tiny fract of registrations happening now. That vast majority will be in the spring!

thanks
