You need to use CBs login. Joomlas login does not POST to CBs login page, which results in CBs login behavior and triggers not firing. For example any behavior that acts on the after login trigger will not work. CB AntiSpam also can't protect Joomla logins if being used.
You could use CB Auto Actions and a Redirect action acting on the onBeforeLoginFormDisplay trigger with Access set to All Registered Users. Then redirect to a URL of your choosing. This should redirect the user away from the login form when the user is already logged in to whatever URL you want.
