I'm having endless grief doing the 'dress-rehearsal' upgrade (on a test server).
Joomla 2.5.28 ->3.3.6

It's complicated by the amount of 3rd-party stuff we have installed, and a lot of old legacy junk which was 'more or less' cleaned out. Managed to do this back in September and now have a good copy of 3.3.3 running on a DEV server - the data on it is only current up to September, of course.

I'm having so much trouble reproducing the "upgrade" now ( prior to attempting it on our LIVE server!) that I've reached the conclusion that its probably simpler just to try to "migrate" the data from our live server. In other words, take it down for maintenance, export all the neccessary tables with the very latest live data, and then move the 'now-up-to-date' Joomla 3.3 installation to our live server.

If this is do-able, could you advise me what tables I need to grab, to make sure I have what is required?

the Joomla 3.3 is running CB 1.9.1 and CBsubs 3.0.0 ( as is the current Live Joomla 2.5 site )

Your users table would need to be migrated so you need to move _users, _usergroups, _user_profiles, _user_usergorup_map, _user_keys, and _user_notes to ensure all the Joomla user data is there. Then all of the _comprofiler and _cbsubs tables. If you've GroupJive installed then also all of the _groupjive tables. This doesn't include any other 3rd party extensions that may have user tables (e.g. UddeIM, K2, Kunena, etc..). You'll also want to move the Joomla images/comprofiler/ folder too so profile images and such get moved over.
