CB Subs and multiple memberships was created by tmoran
I’m looking into CB Subs. I have a client that is a paid membership club. They have been running CB on their site for some time and are now looking to accept payments online. Not just for their membership subscriptions, but also for event ticket sales and merchandise.

I’ve been playing around with MijoShop (OpenCart) and HikaShop for product sales. Both offer event ticket add-ons and both integrate with Acymailing. I’m yet to decide which way to go with these (although MijoShop looks better out of the box). Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

With regard to CB Subs, they have several membership levels (foundation, general, honorary, etc) and these have different pricing and renewal periods (i.e.: foundation every 5 years, honorary unpaid - but renewable - and general is yearly or 5 yearly). Can CB Subs handle multiple renewal periods and invoice accordingly?

Can CB Subs also handle the numerous cb fields that are currently assigned to each user (especially membership history... 2006, 2013, 2014 etc).

Yes, you can have multiple plans with their own durations. You can't have multiple durations for a single plan though. So for example you can't have a plan with a yearly, monthly, and 5 year duration options; you'd need to make 3 plans with those durations.

Can CB Subs also handle the numerous cb fields that are currently assigned to each user (especially membership history... 2006, 2013, 2014 etc).

Handle them out? CBSubs can change field values based off subscription state. It can also show/hide fields based off subscription. Including entire tabs.

Thanks krileon,

I'm in the process of organizing SSL. Does CB Subs operate under the same domain?

ie: www.tommyhafeyclub.com.au/cbsubs/checkout

or does it require a subdomain...
eg: www.shop.tommyhafeyclub.com.au/cbsubs

It operates under the same domain. It's a CB component plugin. Its URLs look like the following for example.

index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=pluginclass&plugin=cbpaidsubscriptions&do=displayplans

When I go to purchase CBSubs, the payment option goes to a different domain...
secure.ogone.com/ncol/prod/orderstandard_utf8.asp

This may be just the way Joomlapolis runs their online payments, however I need to be sure I can accept credit card details under the same domain as my site (otherwise I have to purchase a different SSL).

We use Ogone, which is a hosted payment solution (e.g. like PayPal). What you use is up to you. You can use a hosted payment solution like Ogone or PayPal or you can accept payments directly on site with for example Authorize.net. You do not need SSL for hosted payment solutions so no you will not need to purchase a different SSL.
