GroupJive Create Groups Permissions

GroupJive Create Groups Permissions was created by playerocity
Hello.

I have created a group category named "TEAM SHEETS" in GroupJive. In the admin settings of this group category I have enabled group creation with create access assigned to "TeamSheet_Manger" joomla ACL group. I have attached a screenshot of those settings.

I have a user who is registered in the "TeamSheet_Manager" joomla group. I have attached a screenshot of that.

When this user is logged into cb and on the category page of "TEAM SHEETS". They do not have a way of creating a new group in the category. The navigation item is not displaying to create a new group. I have attached a screenshot of that. If I am logged in as an administrator there is the option of creating a group attached (group is named Team).

It seems the permission settings of creating a new group for a category is not functioning correctly since this TeamSheet_Manager should have access to create groups. Or is there something I am missing and need to do to make this work?

Using:
Joomla: 3.3
GroupJive: 2.7
CB: 2.0.5

Thanks

Ok, I was able to resolve this. I believe there is an issue here, but my workaround will work for me.

When creating a category and selecting the Joomla groups who have permission to create groups in this category it will not override the general settings found in the GroupJive configuration. In other words you must go into the GroupJive congifuration on the Groups tab and then general tab and find the "Create Access" dropdown. You must select the appropriate create groups here first. In my case I had to go here and choose "TeamSheet_Manager" for it to work over the on category of "TEAM SHEETS" i explained in earlier post. If you do not give access on this main default configuration page it will not work even if you selected it over on the create category page. I think this is a problem because for one its not intuitive admin design, and secondly you can't make multiple choices of groups in the default setting to give access. So basially you are limited to "moderators, administrators" by default and one other group you select.

Not sure if that all makes sense, but it's what i found if it may help anyone.

Thanks

A lot of this will be cleaned up in the rewrite planned after the CB 2.x upgrade. For now, yes it's a bit confusing. With the rewrite the parameters and configuration overhead will more than half making GJ significantly easier to use (a name change is planned too). The upgrade release will primarily be a compatibility and bug fix release so this won't change in it.
