Changing order fields in a list's search

Hello,

I am wondering how I could change the order of the fields displayed in a CB list I have set up? Is that (only) determined by the order in which the fields are sorted in the CB field manager?

I am asking because we'd like to show the CB Fields in a users profile in a different order than in the search form above a CB list of those profiles.

Any advise on how to achieve this would be much appreciated.

Search criteria order is the same as profile edit displayed as flat layout. It first orders by the tabs the fields are on. Next it orders by the fields actual order. The only way to change the order is to change the fields order or the tab order depending on what you want moved around.

The order of the fields in the users row is purely based off the order of the fields under Columns when editing your userlist within CB > List Management.

Thanks, Krileon, for the detailed explanation. Yes, I understand how the order is set in the user's row.

To avoid misunderstanding: I meant the order of the fields in which they are displayed in the search part above a CB list.

I take it from your answer that there is no way to adjust that order in the search without changing the order of the fields on a profile?
