[SOLVED] Login issues was created by tmoran
For some reason I can't seem to allow administrators or registered users to access the site any more (only Super Users can login).

When an administrator tries to login via frontend it simply goes to a blank page. When they try to login via admin it tells them:
Warning
You do not have access to the administrator section of this site.

When a registered user tries to login via the frontend it simple goes to a CB login page.

This wasn't happening prior to upgrading Joomla and CB.

J.3.3.6
CB.2.0.6

I've looked everywhere and tried numerous variations to the CB Core User Permissions and Joomla Global Permission Settings. Can anyone advise what might have gone wrong?

Have you messed with Joomla default permissions?
Turn on joomla debug to maximum level and see if your blank pages give more info.

I don't think I touched the default permissions. I presume by Joomla default permissions you mean the config set in the attachment joomla-global-administrator-permission-settings.png

I’ve since added an Joomla Login and the same thing is happening…

The only difference is the Joomla login for admin brings up another login page. The CB login doesn’t. (they both bring up a login page for a registered user).

Neither gives me an incorrect password message!

I tried error report set to maximum and it gives me nothing!

It smells like a misconfigured permissions in Joomla.

If you have ACL Manager, please run its tools check - it might find your issue.
If Joomla login module also causes issues as you stated then it is almost surely a Joomla permissions / group / ACL issue.

Navigate to CB > Configuration > General and ensure "Login Method" is set correctly to the method you're trying to use. Next navigate to CB > Configuration > Registration and set "Allow User Registration" to 'Yes, Independent of CMS "allow registration"'. Now navigate to CB > Configuration > User Profile and set "Profile View Access Level" to "Public" or "Registered", but try to be relaxed as possible with this param as it can lock out users from their profile.

Once the above has been checked ensure you have a Public and Published Joomla menu item to CBs profile page. This is pretty critical as CB will use it for its Itemid, which will result in Joomla menu access permission kicking in for all of CBs pages. If you've a menu item to CBs login page then you may want to also ensure it's set to Public at the least.

The above should ensure a fully functional login, registration, and profile workflow.

Not sure exactly what the problem was, but I installed ACL Manager as suggested, then ran a check & repair and everything now appears to work :)

Thanks for the heads up.
