hi, quick question, I want to show just the year in that field
example: member since 2015

I tried custom date in parameters, I can't figure it out how to accomplish that..

Ensure you're using CB 2.0.7. Next edit the Member Since (registerDate) field. Now under Parameters > Display set "Profile View Display" to "Custom" then set the following.

Custom Date Format: Y
Custom Time Format: (empty it)

This should output only the year. For further formatting variables see PHP date documentation below.

Ah, it's the time still showing. Add a space to the "Custom Time Format" parameter instead of leaving it completely empty and that'll do it. Will need to improve the time display check to test for that.
