[SOLVED] Mycommunity template positions was created by ksaltman
I am using your MyCommunity template for the www.redwoodrvowners-dev.com website. I've created a custom HTML module for the site footer but can't get the positioning to work.

If I select position-5 the home page looks ok, but any other page has the module cut off to the left side of the page. If I select position-6, then all the other pages seem to look ok, but the home page has it cut off to the right 1/2 of the page.

Any thoughts?

If any module is in position 5 or position 6 then both module positions render side by side. I recommend having 1 module in position 5 and another in position 6 and you should have the side by side display no matter what. The module count for those positions on your home page is also 3, while on other pages is 2 so you may have a module assigned to that position that's set to display on the home page only. The count changes the ID, which is used to adjust the CSS.

I am using a custom html module which I would like to span the entire space at the bottom of my website. The contents of this will change over time.

Right now it contains two images, one left justified, one on the right. At least that is how it appears on the home page when I assign it to position 5 or 6 in the module manager.

On any other page the custom html module only spans 1/2 the page which causes the custom html to wrap.

How do I see the module count for a page? Right now I have modules in position 2, 5 or 6, and 7.

I am using a custom html module which I would like to span the entire space at the bottom of my website. The contents of this will change over time.

Then put 1 module in position 5 and no modules in position 6. I believe it'll then do that. Otherwise you'll need to adjust the CSS for such a display.

How do I see the module count for a page? Right now I have modules in position 2, 5 or 6, and 7.

Right click one of your images and click inspect element then go up the dom to its botusers id, which will be botusers# and the # being the module count of position 5 and position 6 count being added together.

Got it, very confusing. Bottom line in order for the MyCommunity template to render things the same on all pages, they all must have the same module count. I had the slide show showing only on the home page in position 2. By creating a blank custom html module and assigning it to all but the home page in position 2, now position 5 renders the same on all pages.

interesting.....

It's because you've 2 modules everywhere else, but 3 on homepage. The styling for 2 modules thinks you have 1 module in position 5 and 1 module in position 6, which does the side by side styling. Really it shouldn't matter what the count is and purely check if something is in 5 and 6 then do side by side and if only in 5 or 6 then do full width. So a module count greater than or less than 2 will give the display you're wanting.
