I've recently moved a working site from my Linux development server to my live Windows production server and whilst Community Builder and GroupJive runs fine in the front end, in the admin back end I can't access any of the component screens.

The only other components added to the site are Akeeba and J2XML and I can access these components config screens fine.

I've turned on Site Debugging and set error reporting to Maximum, but still all I get is a blank screen (no error message).

The blank screen is delivered in just a few seconds, so it's not a timeout issue as far as I can tell.

The server error logs aren't showing any errors either.

In PHP the memory setting is set to 128MB and I've run a test that shows the site gets 99MB.

System config is as follows:-

PHP Built On Windows NT MILEJOOMLA1 6.1 build 7601 (Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition Service Pack 1) i586
Database Version 5.5.28
Database Collation utf8_general_ci
PHP Version 5.6.4
Web Server Microsoft-IIS/7.5
WebServer to PHP Interface cgi-fcgi
Joomla! Version Joomla! 3.4.1 Stable [ Ember ] 21-March-2015 20:30 GMT
Joomla! Platform Version Joomla Platform 13.1.0 Stable [ Curiosity ] 24-Apr-2013 00:00 GMT
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/41.0.2272.118 Safari/537.36

Any ideas or pointer would be gratefully received.

Dave

Once debug mode and maximum error reporting are enabled you'll need to trigger the issue then check server error logs if nothing outputs on page. That's the only way to see what's going on. If nothing is logging or display then error output for your server is probably being suppressed in PHP.ini by error_reporting, which you'll need to adjust so errors can output. Note sometimes errors are logged in a file at root directory (Joomla root or in this case root/administrator/) as an error file.

Thanks Kyle,

I'll check the php.ini file tomorrow as I'm out of the office now, but I did have debug on and error reporting set to maximum and nothing was displayed on screen or in the server error log after testing it again.

More tomorrow on this no doubt.

Thanks

Dave

So this morning I've checked the PHP file and not spotted anything that would stop error reporting. So I've now upgraded the PHP to version 5.6.7 but still the problem exists.

I've got full access to the live Windows Server and I've used Server Manager > Event Viewer to try and spot any errors that are being picked up - but again nothing shows when I trigger the blank screen by trying to go to CB Control Panel or CB User Management, or GroupJive etc.

My site is set up for Debugging and error reporting is currently set to Maximum.

Any ideas, anyone?

Dave

Is this server managed by you or ate you on some hosting platform?

If you are on some platform ask the helpdesk to help you find the server error logs.

The server is in-house, so managed by us - with full access.

The server's only job is to host our Joomla sites... nothing else.
