Facebook requested fields - CB Connect

Hi there,

I've just installed CB 2.0.7 and CB Connect 6.0.5 on Joomla 3.4.1 and I noticed discrepancies on the fields that Facebook offers in SDK 2.3 and the fields that CB Connect can request.

According to Facebook documentation, from the public_profile object we can request:

id
name
first_name
last_name
link
gender
locale
timezone
updated_time
verified

However on CB Connect field mapping when selecting the field to import from Facebook (“From field”) I cannot find locale or timezone for example.

There are other facebook objects like user_birthday, user_location, user_events, etc that are also interesting.

My question is, is there a way to add this additional requests to CB Connect?

CB Connect is using v1 API. It's not using v2 API yet so it's not going to be able to pull very many fields. I really don't recommend asking for more information, permissions or fields, at this time due to this. Once HybridAuth 3 is in a more stable state I'll upgrade CB Connect and it'll be using the v2 API.

I understand from Facebook that from May 1st 2015, API v1 will be deprecated, please see:

Does that mean that CB Connect will stop working with Facebook?

No, they're already forcing v1 endpoints to v2. It won't stop working, but will become more unstable. However, I'm already working on upgrading CB Connect to use HybridAuth 3. Please see the below topic regarding CB Connect 7.0.0 Beta 1 release.
