Hi,

The way you have the connection types set up in CB Privacy is completely correct. But knowing the average user, when they accept a connection, they often don't follow up and categorize the connection type. This would likely cause lots of problems with the new connection not being able to view the user's profile if the new connection has not been categorized, but the Privacy is set to only certain connection types, for example friends. It would help if at the same time a user accepts a connection he can also categorize the connection and not have to take a second step to do it after accepting. Could you all add this option to set the connection type when first accepting a connection? Without this, I don't think I can use the option in Privacy for users to choose connection types.

Warmly,
Joseph

This is something we'll be addressing when Connections is rewritten. We've plans to entirely rewrite the usage, but no idea when. We need to brainstorm some ideas of what direction we want to go first (e.g. take a page from Google with circles or keep to a more traditional usage, etc..). For now you can add to the language string displayed above accepting connections to let them know about connection types.
