User Country Image +Gallery Question

User Country Image +Gallery Question was created by SelinaCruz
Hello there!

First is the easier question, is SimGallery compatible with Community Builder 2.0?

Second question, I am attempting to create a Country selection area upon registry that when the Country is chosen, displays a flag image of their Country on their profile, is this possible and if so how do I go about doing it?? I've tried and failed countless times

I don't know. We're not the developers of SimGallery. If they've a CB plugin then I suppose so.

You can use the Profile Value Layout override for your country field combined with substitutions to do this. Example as follows.

[cb:if cb_country="usa"]<img src="USA_FLAG_IMG_PATH_HERE" /> [value][/cb:if]

See the below tutorial for further substitution usage information.

Thank you for the reply back in regards to the flag information. It feels like with each bit of information I receive it's more and more like I will not be able to do what I want to do, which is frustrating because if that is the case then I've wasted time and money on something that can not do what it is I need to have done. Everyone's selling a vague idea and it isn't until money is exchanged that the tiny important facts are revealed. This other simsgallery apparently sells itself as being compatible with CB but works with a community builder that isn't 2.0. On top of this, all of their information is hidden only for their registered members, but you can't be a registered member unless you pay. Why would I pay just to read "no we can't do that" on the forum? Though I feel as though this is all I'm doing because several months have been wasted as have hundreds of dollars when I could have went somewhere else completely.

Not sure what is vague about Kyle's flag response.

We also have a relevant video (that deals with gendar image) that addrsses a similar use case here:

See video #7 and #8.

I cannot really comment on this other simgallery product.

Is there something specific you are trying to do with CB + Joomlapolis add-ons that you need help with?

Nothing was vague about his response at all which is why I thanked him, but when I'm told that CB is going to be creating a gallery soon, a lot of questions are left unanswered until I commit enough to purchase and run into an issue myself, then once I ask if something I had planned on is possible, it isn't. That is a very expensive form of trial and error.

I was also venting about SimGallery, which isn't under your control at all but is set up in a similar format where I'd more than likely have to pay to fail then adapt from there. Luckily I could see enough from other users running into the same issue with them from a distance to help me put 2 and 2 together. What I am trying to do is create a community based website that would allow for several different types of memberships. There are the membership levels for those working for me and membership levels for those who are customers. I also wanted to add a point system for all members to have the ability to purchase, earn and send points to one another. I was thinking of AlphaUserPoints but I will have to go back to see if it is CB 2.0 compatible or claiming to be CB compatible only because it's CB 1.3 compatible. A lot of CB's Add-On's seem like they'd be good to have, but if I have to revert back to 1.9 or earlier to get anything else done are they even worth downloading or not due to being incompatible?

We have already released our new CB Gallery since February - see release announcement here:

www.joomlapolis.com/news/18487-new-cb-gallery-supports-photos-files-videos-and-music

The CB Gallery is now on version 2.0.5.
You can see all the latest releases with quick download links here:

As stated previously, we cannot comment on other developer extensions - but thanks for posting your feedback so others can read your experience.

What I am trying to do is create a community based website that would allow for several different types of memberships. There are the membership levels for those working for me and membership levels for those who are customers.

For this you could use our CBSubs Paid Subscriptions solution as described here:
www.joomlapolis.com/cb-solutions/cbsubs

Please note that this is not part of the Professional membership - you would need to upgrade to Developer level or purchase an extra CBSubs membership.

I cannot comment on AlphaUserPoints CB 2.0 compatibility.
I know that you can integrate CBSubs with AlphaUserPoints at the database level using the CBSubs SQL integration script.

This way for example you can have a CBSubs plan where users pay a certain amount to get more points. CBSubs SQL script can be formed to automatically add points to a user's account.

Something similar could be done with CB Auto Actions (available to Professional members) based on specific CB events.

Examples that will help you understand CB Auto Actions can be seen below:
