Force password change ? was created by rbuelund
Is there anyway to force a password change at first login? This is really needed when passwords are generated automatically upon profile creation.

No, we've no feature to force new password at this time. We'll probably implement something like this eventually, but no idea when. Why do users need to supply a new password when a secure generated one is already supplied? They can also use the forgot login feature to generate a new one.

Because users cannot remember the auto generated password, so it would be a big help to lead them directly to the place where they can change.. not all users are computer experts - and many do need guidance ;-)

The password is sent to their email address. They should be able to just copy and paste it. They can then change their password to whatever they like from profile edit (you could even set the first login redirect to profile edit to help with this). Beyond that I don't know what to suggest as we don't have the feature you're wanting.
