SEF URL gets lostpassword.html appended and not just the alias set in menu item settings.

Hi,

I have an issue where the menu URL to the lost password and register url from the CB login module is not the SEF alias set in the joomla menu.

It should be: www.domain.com/menualias.html
but it is www.domain.com/menualias/lostpassword.html and www.domain.com/menualias/registers.html

This just doesn't look good at all.

Regards
Tom

The SEF URL is correct. That's how view URLs SEF when using Joomla SEF. If you need a more customized URL you need to use a 3rd party SEF extensive with custom rewrite rules. The alias just replaces the component. Example as follows.

RAW: /index.php?option=com_comprofiler&view=registers
SEF: /com_comprofiler/registers
ALIAS: /alias/registers

Top level URLs like you're wanting don't really work that well in Joomla. This is because Joomla interprets the first part as the component. It matches the alias to the database to determine where it really needs to go. If you do what you're wanting then a second pass on SEF is needed to test it against views, but views are not unique while alias is. So I don't really see how that's going to reliably work in a Joomla environment.
