I have a donation field on my registration form but does it also appear when the user needs to renew? I would like them to have the opportunity to donate at renewal time as well.
You can not renew and make a new purchase at the same time. They would need to purchase both in separate steps. Eventually we'll allow renewal with new purchases at the same time, but for now it's not possible.

No, CBSubs doesn't support renewing and making a new purchase at the same time or renewing multiple plans at the same time. You can only make new purchase all at the same time (if they're non-exclusive). Eventually we'll allow you to renew multiple plans or make new purchases with a renewal, but it's currently not implemented.
