Confusing confirmation e-mail was created by rbuelund
Hi

At my site the users register with e-mail and auto generated password. No username is entered.

In the confirmation e-mail (sent after the admin has accepted the account) the [PASSWORD] substitution does not seem to work in this case, and the [DETAILS] substitution is confusing as it still contains the username part - which the user does not use here ??

It would be optimal if the user could recieve an e-mail that contained only the registered e-mail and the auto-generated passord.

Username is always created. Whether the user supplied it or CB does its fallback behavior to populate it from another field (defaults to Name). It's mandatory for Joomla user.

The password should always be sent in the Pending email and not the Welcome email. The Welcome email will only send the password if a new one is needed to be generated. You also don't have to use [DETAILS]. You can substitute in their profile data however you like using substitutions. See the below tutorial for substitution usage information.
