Question about Profile area default display

Hello there,

I apologize if this is something that has been asked a million times.

I am trying to make either 'connections' or 'activity' display automatically in the user profile. A default setting, basically. It is bare and empty and not as intuitive (from new user testing) how to make one display.

Can you point me in a good direction? Or if this isn't possible - save me a ton of time.

I know this is very basic and not a hard core code question, but it would be a big help.

CB Activity has no feature to add a default activity entry. CB Connections has no such feature built into it either to add a default connection. Both are doable though.

CB Auto Actions can be used to add an activity entry on the after registration trigger using the CB Activity action for example and can do the same to add a connection using the Connection action. I recommend the below videos for CB Auto Actions to become more familiar with it.

Hello and thank you for the reply. I found the tutorials for auto actions amazing. I can't wait to dig in and play with those.

However - for my question posted above, I found a very simple solution. I thought I would share it here for anyone else who may be wanting to do this.

1. Go to tabs editing
2. Look for the items 'nested' in that tab on the far right of the profile (far right from blogs etc.)
3. Change the 'nested tab' to 'tab menu' and place it in 'canvas main middle'
4. Move the items you now have in the 'canvas main middle' up or down. This changes the order of display.
5. If you want the users activity stream to display in the profile, make it the first tab in the canvas main middle position.

Tip: This allows the user to add thoughts to the main activity stream via the 'what's on your mind' feature that is displayed.

Ah, sorry I guess I misunderstood what you were asking. Yes, you can move the tab around as you please. That position is perfectly fine for it.
