conditional with value not working with "lang"

I need to self condition a field based on the current language used by the site. The value get_lang > contains > en does not work. How can I debug this?

Please provide a screenshot of your exact condition. There is no dynamic condition for language. So you'd have to be using the custom value usage and substituting it in. This means it's going to be 1 page load behind registration and profile edit inputs and won't take affect until the next page load as it processes once on page load then doesn't process again as it's a static value.

Thanks. I use the custom value but fail to retrieve the language the site is in. That is a php variable provided by Joomla so I think there must be way to get that variable.

That won't work. It doesn't execute PHP and that isn't a valid substitution so it's doing a literal string compare of those 2, which will always fail. Use the below instead of get_lang.

[cb:config param="lang_tag" /]

The above will be the tag you see in Extensions > Language Manager. So for example you'd need to compare against de-DE probably. See the below tutorial for further substitution usage information.

Can you please point me to the docs for the conditional where it explains how to connect the 5 conditional tabs with an AND (my field should only display when the site is in German AND the field above contains a certain value), and which condition takes priority for the display in the end (self or others), cheers.

Such a feature doesn't exist. You can only condition a tab or field once. Only the last condition applied to a tab or field will matter. Implementation of AND/OR support is planned in a later release.
